Our food supply must be kept pure / free of potential foodborne illness. Knowledge, education is of pivotal importance, therein lies the foundation or key to protecting ourselves and others from potential harm. We all play an important role in this crucial initiative. We all
consume food, and thus no one can escape this truth.
Every year, about 5,000 people die due to foodborne illnesses, in the U.S. alone. These are Statistics from CDC (Center for Disease Control). Due to the ever evolving nature of microbes, and ever new strains on the horizon, there is a need for updated information. Causing for continual briefing or re-training, in effect many States require the Food Facility to have a minimum of one individual certified as a Professional Food Manager. And there usually is a validity period, or expiration date for such a certification, meant to factor in the ever changing landscape that is food manipulation, at every level of the food chain.

If your a large wholesale distributor, of pre-packaged foods containing meat, you would be required by the U.S.D.A. to have the HACCP-Thomson Prometric Being the officially accepted HACCP Certification.
